MEDIA ANALYST

YOUTH STARTUP is looking for a part time Media Analyst to join our YSHERALD team in Auckland. Our Media Analysts are responsible for managing and creating customised communications research and insights reporting that help our clients understand the impact and value of media. We are passionate about bringing the right people into our award winning team.

What you need to do?

  • Worked closely with the team in New Zealand and China and our clients to understand what they need to know to make great business decisions.
  • Buried your head into tons of data to work out what approach will best answer a client's question in a coherent and relevant way
  • Written coherent, engaging and relevant reports that answer the questions about media that really matter to our clients
  • Presented a report to a client and brainstormed some new ideas that could help make their measurement even better.
  • Met a new client, found out their key questions and strategy and designed a project that will blow them away.
  • Finished the week knowing you've nailed your deadlines for lots of different projects dealing with a very diverse client base.
  • Most importantly you would have taken great pride in knowing you've played a critical role for our clients and YOUTH STARTUP.

Who are you?

  • You are analytical by nature and are genuinely interested in news and current affairs as well as all things social media.
  • You enjoy working out how to answer a complex question with data and take pride in writing customised business reports that get to the bottom of the information in a way that makes sense to a wide audience.
  • You love working closely with clients to understand their needs and take great pride delivering relevant and valuable reports that will empower clients to make informed decisions about their media strategy.
  • You are comfortable juggling lots of priorities and can manage several projects at once and smash your deadlines.

RESEARCH ANALYST

What the role is all about

The role of Research Analyst will see you joining a small team comprised mostly of Research Advisors. Led by the General Manager, the core function of the Research Analyst is to coordinate the investment, contract and project monitoring process and provides the team with some seriously good insights around the progress of investments. You will have responsibility for a number of key processes including the day-to-day admin of external contracts to providing insight into progress to coordinating variations. Plenty to keep you busy and engaged with a great little team working alongside you!

A snapshot of your days:

  • Master user of financial systems to ensure process is in place to keep financial information accurately
  • Drafting contracts including milestone payments and timings
  • Processing invoices, producing quarterly reports with key observations and analysis on variations
  • Tracking and organising projecting monitoring meetings
  • Coordinating the finalisation and publication of research reports
  • Provide support for the Levy Audit process and pulling together key contract information

 The ideal person will have:

  • Strong administration background
  • Exposure to contract management
  • The ability at maintaining high level of accuracy Superior relationship management skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Be proactive around identifying needs and issues and be prepared to take ownership
  • A high level of professionalism and the commitment to play an important role in the success of the project
  • Proven experience in contract administration or management and the New Zealand science/research system is advantageous
  • Personality-wise, be independent, articulate and results focussed with a real drive to succeed.
